Participation in the Conference will include a Technical Visit to the Portuguese National Laboratory of Civil Engineering (LNEC) (view in Google Maps).

The Laboratório Nacional de Engenharia Civil – LNEC is a state-owned research and development (R&D) institution founded in 1946. It works in the various domains of civil engineering, giving it a unique multidisciplinary perspective in this field. The main goals of the LNEC are to carry out innovative research and development and to contribute to the best practices in civil engineering. LNEC also plays a key role in advising the government in technical and scientific matters of civil engineering, as an unbiased and independent body.

The visit will take place at 10:00h on THU/27MAY2010 and will be available on a strict first-come, first-serve basis, as the capacity is limited. View the Visit Program (PDF).

You're in for a treat of Portuguese cuisine. A 27-course (yes, twenty-seven) plated dinner, from apetizers and fish and meat entrées, to desserts, all for € 21,00 (beverages and coffee not included). The Conference Dinner is the social highlight of the conference and a not-to-be-missed event open to all Conference speakers, attendees and guests.
